ObeliX-mas

Hohoho, Mery X-mas

Yeah even in the Gaul village they celebrate christmas

So Obelix turned on his X-mas outfit
and brings in the decorated tree!

and I must say, it looks great!

As you know I have bought a lot of these figures hunting to find new Romain solders,
and still doing that, so the broken double figures can be used for little projects like this.

Like this one, with a broken helmet..
Just cut the helmet off, and used a nail  to modeling his new Santa hat around.

For the Christmas tree I did buy a small pine tree on a model railway fair.
It was a used tree, perfect size cause I had this scene in my mind...
Even brought the figure with me, so I could fit, and yeah this looks great!

As decoration I used some gold wire and Pearlmaker,
what my lovely wife uses for making her beautiful postcards.

I did make dots, and when it was dry painted them.
As peak I used 2 gold stars, also from the postcard hobbystuff...
Painted the plastic trunk, yeah it turned out well.

I hope you like this small, simple conversion!

So this is my last monthly post of 2017..
A Merry Christmas and a great new year to all of you!
Let's hope I can fill another 12 posts next year!
(and find more Romain solders from this range)

  6. What a wonderful and festive creation he is! I could not imagine that they made this character "officially" for the set.... But now I see how you "fixed" the broken figure!!! Well done!!! Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
