Lord Knownothing

this month a post about my lost duel...

My good friend Peter did challenge me for a duel
on Bennos figures forum when we met at FIGZ.
Kristina did pick out this Asterix British figure.

I tough to paint it a little bit different as I usual do.
Double colors on the shoes, a bit of effect in the hair,
and colors in a different combination.

Gave it the name: Lord Knownothing.
Turned out nice, I tought....

But I got only 8 from the 19 votes...

But it was fun to do, and Peter did deserve to win.
See the duel Here

Hopefully next time more votes for the duel,
cause only 19 voters is not the dueling fun I would like to see.

Pinokkio

This month it was a close call, but I made it.
A well known figure I found on internet.

Yeah it is the guy who does get a larger nose when he doesn't speak the truth..
Pinokkio

Today, the last day of the month I did finish him right on time...
but making the photo's, I saw I forgot his gloves. AHRRR...

So here he is with gloves, and does he like it?

His nose doesn't grow, so I think so!

Not much detail work, and painted the same comic style
as my Asterix figures

The figure was one color plastic, I guess also from the 70ths
Personal I don't know where its from...

well that's all folks for this month, back to the figures who
have more my interest...
It was fun to paint something different, but to be honnest
it wasn't my favorite figure to paint!

Ready in time.... #150

Just in time, 2 weeks before FIGZ
there was a small party on my painting desk.

I finished painting another Romain solder, clean up my brush,
and when I looked back, the solder was holding a balloon!
He was really happy to be number 150!

Okay, I can't tell much about this guy,
only that my goal is achieved in time!

Here a small overview of all 150 Romain Solders

And if you look good, you can fiend number 150

See....

Thats all folks for this month, now it's time to put some energy
into organizing FIGZ in Arnhem.

Next goal will be 200 for FIGZ 2019...
Still looking for more Romains!

These figures are from the chewing gum range
in the seventies, long agoo!

Barbarossa

This month I painted a figure I got years ago.

It is from the Turkish brand "Altar", sculptor Uhrin Zsolt.
And look at the nice box it is sold!

And what a great sculpt it is, I really like it a lot.
I was afraid with my painting skills to start painting it.

But I gave it his colors, different like the box.
And am quite happy with the way he turned out.

The pictures don't give a good view, but it's the best I can show.
But in real he looks much better.

About Barbarossa there is on the box
a explanation, one side in Turkish,
on the other side in English:

But you can find also info here on Wikipedia.

Seems he was a sort of Turkish pirate,
so I even learned something today!

Hope you liked it, tried to show you something different.
Now back to my Romains, goal 150 before FIGZ...

Willy

This month I didn't have enough time to paint.
So I put up a figure I painted some time ago.

To be honest, this figure I totally dislike,
I got it from a friend along the Asterix figures.
And he it's sometime fun to paint something else!

It's the best friend Willy of Maya who I painted last year.

The only thing I like are the wings.
A bit of highlight with silver makes them look much better.

Like the Asterix range these figures are from one color plastic.

Well back to paint some Romains again...
My goal is 150 for FIGZ 2018...

Kristina

This month I have another tribute to someone.
It's my future daughter in law Kristina!

She is now graduated at the University of Leiden,
and we are all very proud of her.

So I did choose another figure from the Big head figures.
Like I did with the ones I made of Benno and Marjolein.
The original figure name is Paleca as you can see here!
I got this figure as a bonus item on my hunt of
the Romain solder figures from the Asterix range.
And now I got Kristina as a bonus daughter as well.

This figure was not difficult to paint, needed not much different colors.
And since my painting skills aren't that good, this is the result.
A small side project, next to the Romains on my painting desk.
But I had to put Kristina in the spotlight this month.

===================

Well back to my Romains solders again...
I am interested if someone have them for me, please let me know.
For the next FIGZ, I got a new goal....
So bring them on, hahaha

Drum Fun

For my monthly post this time a nice metal figure.
With this guy I did enter the dueling field at Bennos Figures Forum.
And of course I did lost (again) but had fun painting this guy.

No historical choice of uniform colors,
so I am aware he isn't historical right painted.
But it was my way to thank mr. "X"
the unknown dueler for his monthly tribute.
And as the organizer of the dueling section,
I had to be a part of it as well.

The 28mm metal figure is from North Star figures

Now back to my Romains, thanks for visiting my blog.
Hope you will come back next month.
