Chop some wood

This month an old figure from Atlantic set 1012 Sioux camp

of an Indian choping trees

My Belgian friend Peter sent me this one 

with some other non-violent figures from this range

Although I wasn't really in the mood 

to paint a figure this month, it looks quite nice.

Hopefully he has enough wood to communicate 

hahahaha

Going to the ball

 

This month a small lady:

Its a fantastic resin printed figure

from Speira Miniatures in scale 20 mm.

It was a long time ago to paint 1/72

and I must say bigger figures I prefer more.

Looks like the figures getting smaller every time,

or is it my bad painting style, hahaha

The figure is amazing with fine details,

even in this small scale.

I chose her for a duel with my good friend Peter:

And thanks to his last vote, it was a draw

He mailed me pictures of before and after voting.

I tried to show some of the details on the umbrella,

but it ruined a bit the overall sweet look.

On the inside I left it white.

The dress I did dry-brush with silver,

can't see it on the photo but it had a cool result.

Never the less, a cool figure to paint,

hard to paint under the umbrella.

But we both had fun.

Ohw the duel was planed a long time ago,

but I lost my figure, so ordered an new one.

Otherwise Peter was still waiting...

Flying Witch

Years ago the special figure of FIGZ 

was this awesome flying witch with her cat.

Sculped by my good friend Alex.

Since she is flying, I had to present her differently. 

I chose confirmation through her back.

After I had drilled the hole and glued a paper clip into it,

I could start painting.

I opted for a purple version, supplemented with some pink. 

Of course the cat is black.

It had been a while since I had painted 20mm,

it was fun to do (although I really prefer the larger scale)

For the presentation I had opted for a deep photo frame,

I glued a haloween picture on the back wall.

I made the frame black, so that it gives the right depth and atmosphere.

When the frame was ready, it was time to add the witch.

(the bumps will disappear later)

Determine the right place and start drilling ...

During this execution, of course the broom broke.

Yes the figure is very vulnerable. 

After that was glued again, this is the end result.

I made this for my girlfriend with whom I have been together for 13 years today. 

She loves witches and has been looking forward to 

the painted version of this witch for a long time.

Squaw making dinner

And again an old figure, from the Atlantic set 1012 Sioux Camp.

It is an Indian woman who is going to cook a rabbit.

I got this figure from my Belgian friend Peter.

When he did sent me the Gold digger

for my duel against Mr. X on our forum.

He send me a lot non violent figures, but this girl

I had to paint for a duel against Peter.

That was part of the deal, so I had to duel again...

Because Peter mailed me his pictures before I started

I would play it fair, so I decided to use other colors.

Even the rabbit had to be brown, not gray.

And I added some white spots on him.

Even gave him a name: Peter Rabbit.

Yeah I lost again, but I had fun painting

Thats where it is all about.

Indian with peace-pipe

This month another figure I got from my good friend Peter.

Sending me the golddigger for the duel, he send me more non violent.

Even unpainted I like this one a lot.

And since I like non-violent... 

with a peace-pipe I couldn't resist to paint him.

 

A bit bit of my comfort zone I must say

 

Hope I did use some right colors, even tried to paint

a small stripe on on his sleeve.

Let's start 2021 with peace I would say!

Golddiger

 

Like every year I try to do a duel in december.

And like every year I loose this duel, hahaha.

I got 5 out of 21 votes, but hey it's better than 0

and it's for fun, so I don't mind at all.

The figure is from an old Atlantic set, a gift from my good friend Peter.

For me it's always a must to find a non violent figure, and so he did sent me this one.

I tried to put some mud on the shovel,

and turned his jack into Santa's coat...

Because it's December, and my way to say:

Merry Christmas and a better 2021 all!

Naughty Witch

As the title does say, a bit of a naughty post this month.
But it must be the warm weather I presume
why this witch is wearing this outfit.

I am talking about the special FIGZ figure 2019.

For those who visit FIGZ every year my good friend Alex

does sculpt a figure in scale 1/72 in a limited edition.

This year he send me a mail, he was a bit carried away...

Now you can see what he ment....

And for me personal it was something new to paint.

Okay I admit I had a lot of fun doing her.

Hours of research for this uniform, hahaha

Not really my scale to paint, but she looks fine to me.

I did put her on a wooden pedestal, and kept it simple...
