Cadaverus

And again a Romain solder from the Asterix and Obelix comics.
This time it is Cadaverus, a not to smart guy..

The pose of this figure is so funny, seems he is longing to a vacation.

The figure is like the others I have posted before, made from metal
and in a 28mm schale, a real pleasure to paint!

From this metal serie I got this figure:

To Be or not To Be

The special figure for FIGZ 2013!!!

As most of you know, I organize once a year the small event FIGZ
to promote this hobby in the Netherlands.
I am proud to say that my Rusian friend Alex made again
a amazing figure in our theme "Game"
a real colectors item, cause only 50 are made!

So I had to paint this guy fast, cause I wanted to show him at the FIGZ shop.
Because of the timelimit, I personal am not pleased by the result.
The text "Bennos figures" had turned out unreadable, but the FIGZ sides turned out well

But it was the first of the only 50 who was painted.
And like the happy wargamer again a suberb figure to paint.
The sculpt of this 1/72 figure is amazing, thanks Alex!

Hope you like it, and will see U at the next FIGZ!

Monk with bible

This monk is from a set of five and I bought it at Crisis Antwerpen.
A verry good sculped metal figure in 28mm scale

I have given the holy book golden pages, this is not well reflected on the pictures.
But the effect was stunning and better than I could hope for.

Maybe in the future I'll make a small vignette of the 5 together.

The name of the producer of this set I don't know
so if someone knows it I can edit this post and link to
their website.

Johan van Valckenburgh

This figure of Johan van Valckenburg was the special figure of "Hamburger Tactica 2013"
Unfortunaly I couldn't go there, so I asked my friend Thomas to buy me on.
The reason is clear, its a (old) famous Dutch man, and since I am Dutch...
Thomas did sent it to me as a gift, so a even bigger suprise for me! Thanks again Thomas!

Beside the figure there is also a measuring instrument

As you can see in the unpainted version, it's a metal figure.

Johan van Valckenburgh was a Dutch ingineer who lived 1575-1625
He buid some fortresses in Germany where he spend the most of his live.
His master was engineer Johan van Rijswijck,
both served for the Dutch prince Mauritz van Oranje

It was fun painting this compatriot.

Model is sculped by Frank Gemershaus specialy for Tactica fair

Motus

This time a Romain officer from the Asterixs comics....
To make him a bit more important, I did use copper on him.

The figure is like the others I have posted before, made from metal
and in a 28mm schale, a real pleasure to paint!

From this metal serie I got this figure:

Old Professor

I found this figure at the Crisis fair in Antwerpen last year.
It's from a set of 3 scientists, heads came separately.
Never seen the set before, this set is from Crooked Dice.

The most difficult was the laboratory bottle,
and I am still not happy with that!

The figure is 32 mm high, so better for my eye, hahaha.

Appianglorious

And this time it's time for a Roman from the Asterix range.
A funy character, so nice to paint!
I wasn't sure about painting the eyes, but they turned out well.
Now I hope you like the result as much as I do.

From this metal serie I got this figure:

Christmas Napoleon

This is a special figure from Schilling figuren in metal.
It was the 2011 Christmas item, and I must say it was fun painting this!
A cool idea to give Bonaparte Napoleon a Christmas look.

And because next week it's Chrismas, it's today I post this beauty.
Merry Chrismas to you all, and a healty new year!

The figure you can find on this site: www.Schilling-Figuren.de

Sinterklaas

Every year in november all Dutch children go to the harbour to see this old man
ariving to our small Dutch country.
After a long trip form Spain with his steam boat they are all glad to see him back again.
With his helping black friends (zwarte piet) he goes up the roofs every evening night,
and they put candy and gifts in the schoes of the cildren.
On the 5th of december he celebrates his birthday, and he will give everyone gifts.

So I tought it would be fun to make this famous Spanisch friend
and did make him from the Revell set 02575 Prussian Hussars:

First using the knife to cut off a few Prussian details, than remodele with simple materials.
For the mitre I used a part of a lollypopstick, for the clothes and deck I used paper napkins with woodglue.
The staf is made of iron wire, the reinds are from fishing line 0,25 mm

The roof is made of carton strips 1x5 cm, used a handy tool from my GF to rible them.
The walls are from foam, and on top I did use singles from paper.

It was realy fun to make this one, when I can find a good figure for a "zwarte piet" I will make him as well.

let's hope you all like him...

Mykingdomforanos

This time a British friend of Asterix and Obelix.
He is from the album "Asterix and the Brits"

I think it's one of the funniest caracters from this serie.
This because he just gives a smile on my face, he is so funny.
Painted him like the other Asterix serie figures like a comic,
so hard colors and no special efects.
The checker patern on his trouwsers is like I did on the shirt of Cacofonix.
White and two colors of bleu.

And yes I know, in that time there was no thea... but it's a comic!

From this metal serie I got this figure:
