Roman Guard

As we all know, many of the Roman guards are not so bright.

And looking at this one, we all know he is going to fly soon.

Only his shoes remain on the ground after meeting Obelix...

Again a figure from the chewinggum series,

and so much fun to paint!

For me the small tooth detail realy did it!

I did use the colors from the comic book.

Like he must be painted in my opinion.

This is the guy before paining...

Small Slave

And another small figure from the Asterix series

got a bit of color this time...

I believe he is from the Cleopatra album.

Again a figure from the chewinggum '70 series

Rocking Santa

Ho, Ho, Ho...

This christmas charachter I have to show!!

A cool figure from schilling-figuren and like last year

with a bit of fun add to it.

This is a metal figure in scale 1/72

and the best way to say merry X-Mas to you all!!

Big Slave

To get a smile on the slaves tracker his face I got a first slave this month...

But he must use his whip, because this guy is BIG!!

Like the others this is also a chewinggum figure

who got som (fantasy) colors from me

Look at those muscles

I guess he will get some havy work to handle

No powerdrink for this guy...

Slaves Tracker

As you can see another Asterix chewing gum figure from the seventies.

Like the others he is 35mm high, a plastic figure.

This time I gave color to the man all slaves hate.

Even if he doesn't look happy, he is in charge of several slaves!

Using his whip he will give his commands to them.

Now just get som slaves to make him smile agiain.

Roman stone carver

Unfortunately I have a lot figures received, 

so I'm going to bother you probably the next time with a lot of painted copies.....

Do you recognize them, they where a gift at the chewing gum (1970-1975)

I remember in the store we all did feel the package if Obelix was in it.

And now years later I paint the guys, and they look so different

This man must be strong, he wears 3 stone plateaus.

and still has time to wave.

Abraracourcix

Once again I did paint Abraracourcix, the chief of the small village at the coast.

Because I run out of the 28mm metal figures, I tought back at the time

I was a joung boy, in that time (around 1970 - 1975)

you could buy chewing gum wit a plastic Asterix figure

These figures are plastic, scale around 35mm, and available in various colors.

For the older readers this must bring back memories!

So now I ask everyone to look at there attic.

And I recieved from friends the first numbers.

Despite being less detailed, these are fun to paint.

And giving these figures colors, makes a big difference

So a new set of guys are ready to be painted at my paintdesk!

Cadaverus

And again a Romain solder from the Asterix and Obelix comics.

This time it is Cadaverus, a not to smart guy..

The pose of this figure is so funny, seems he is longing to a vacation.

The figure is like the others I have posted before, made from metal

and in a 28mm schale, a real pleasure to paint!

To Be or not To Be

The special figure for FIGZ 2013!!!

As most of you know, I organize once a year the small event FIGZ

to promote this hobby in the Netherlands.

I am proud to say that my Rusian friend Alex made again

a amazing figure in our theme "Game"

a real colectors item, cause only 50 are made!

So I had to paint this guy fast, cause I wanted to show him at the FIGZ shop.

Because of the timelimit, I personal am not pleased by the result.

The text "Bennos figures" had turned out unreadable, but the FIGZ sides turned out well

But it was the first of the only 50 who was painted.

And like the happy wargamer again a suberb figure to paint.

The sculpt of this 1/72 figure is amazing, thanks Alex!

Monk with bible

This monk is from a set of five and I bought it at Crisis Antwerpen.

A verry good sculped metal figure in 28mm scale

I have given the holy book golden pages, this is not well reflected on the pictures.

But the effect was stunning and better than I could hope for.

Maybe in the future I'll make a small vignette of the 5 together.

The name of the producer of this set I don't know

so if someone knows it I can edit this post and link to

their website.
