Painterix

This month a little scratch work of one of the Asterix figures.

And it turned out exactly as I had in mind.

The figure is one of the chiefs shield bearers.

First I removed his sword with a knife.

I drilled a hole in the hand, and put a piece of paperclip in it.

Then made from carton a brush point.

And made from paper a small test painter's palette

witch I then cut out of a small piece of plastic.

Here you see the brush and the painter's palette with a piece

of paperclip to simulate his thumb through the palette.

And finally used some white wood glue to make the

brush more round, and also the thumb a bit thicker.

And with a little primer on it, I had my new figure

So not much scratch, simple but effective!

Then painted him colorful, and also did paint a model.

On a small rock I had to paint his model, because in those days

they didn't have the painting boards like we know now.

A painting easel I made from some twigs.

And some crocheted cotton from my girlfriend.

And so created a small simple vignette...

 A small simple vignette it is, but personally like it a lot.

My inspiration to convert this figure into a painter

came from a post on Facebook where I saw this figure:

Well back to paint some Romain Solders again,

this was a nice side project, hope you like it as well.

Governor's daughter

This month a nice lady I found at Crisis in Antwerp last year.

This figure is sold as a resin model.

She is from a pirate range by Black Scorpion Miniatures.

Named Governor's daughter.

I did painted her Purple and Pink

and did highlight the dress with silver

just to give it a more glamor effect.

Unfortunately it doesn't show well on the pictures.

A well sculpted figure, a nice painting job.

It was again something different to paint!

Lord Knownothing

this month a post about my lost duel...

My good friend Peter did challenge me for a duel

on Bennos figures forum when we met at FIGZ.

Kristina did pick out this Asterix British figure. 

I tough to paint it a little bit different as I usual do.

Double colors on the shoes, a bit of effect in the hair,

and colors in a different combination.

Gave it the name: Lord Knownothing.

Turned out nice, I tought....

But I got only 8 from the 19 votes...

But it was fun to do, and Peter did deserve to win.

Hopefully next time more votes for the duel,

cause only 19 voters is not the dueling fun I would like to see.

This month it was a close call, but I made it.

A well known figure I found on internet.

Yeah it is the guy who does get a larger nose when he doesn't speak the truth..

Today, the last day of the month I did finish him right on time...

but making the photo's, I saw I forgot his gloves. AHRRR...

So here he is with gloves, and does he like it?

His nose doesn't grow, so I think so!

Not much detail work, and painted the same comic style
as my Asterix figures

The figure was one color plastic, I guess also from the 70ths

Personal I don't know where its from...

well that's all folks for this month, back to the figures who

have more my interest...

It was fun to paint something different, but to be honnest

it wasn't my favorite figure to paint!

Just in time, 2 weeks before FIGZ

there was a small party on my painting desk.

I finished painting another Romain solder, clean up my brush,

and when I looked back, the solder was holding a balloon!

He was really happy to be number 150!

Okay, I can't tell much about this guy,

only that my goal is achieved in time!

Thats all folks for this month, now it's time to put some energy

into organizing FIGZ in Arnhem.

Next goal will be 200 for FIGZ 2019...
