Another fun scratch project this month, after my friend Sander converted
an Asterix Druid into a wizard.
I immediately said I was going to do the same, and my way!
I started with this figure, identical to the one he had used.
First, I cut a piece off his head, and I also cut the spoon loose.
Finally, in the place of the spoon, I drilled a hole.
With a needle, I pulled a piece of cotton through the hole.
Using an embossing pen (my wife's), I slightly bulged two pieces of paper.
From the top part of the spoon, I cut open the round,
which I glued into the balled-up paper together with the cotton thread.
In the end, the cotton proved too weak, so I added a thin iron wire.
With PVA glue I formed the snake's body,
and on its head 2 more drops as eyes
Using a glue gun, I made a hat on a sheet of plastic,
it became a bit of a Harry Potter style.
The advantage of clear plastic is that you could put a round on it nicely,
which I then simply cut out.
On the hat, I glued a small star, and stuck it on the cut-off head.
This fit exactly.
As you can see, the top part of the snake is already shaped, I let this dry first.
Finally, I also formed the lower part of the tube,
and glued everything securely to the hand.
At first, I had painted the rings on the snake yellow,
but eventually decided to replace this with orange...
I am very satisfied with the end result, the first time I made a snake.
All in all, a fun project in which I also surprised my friend Sander.
Hij is geweldig! Super goed gelukt.
ReplyDeleteHi Remco! That is a very Magical transformation of a 'spoon" into a fork-tongued snake! I like the glow in the dark effect and the hat is brilliant! :)
