That way to the Gauls

And another Romain I would like to show you this month!

I have panted a few Romains already
but this one was new for me as well

Just simple pointing the way to he village of the Gauls.

Not much to tell about him, just another figure
of the Asterix Bubble gum range of the '70.

But some paint makes him look better
that's for sure!

Strong slave

For those who follow my blog, maybe you recognize this guy ...
Because I have also already painted him in 2013:

As you can see he looks now a bit different
This is the fun part of the hobby, using different colors
making a whole other figure this way!
You can find my old post here

This guy is so impressive, I guess he spends a lot of hours in the gym!

Again a nice figure for my project
I hope you like him this way as well!!
Maybe I will paint him again in another outfit...
If you got a nice suggestion, just let me know!

Yes another figure from the Asterix series
of the '70th bubble gum range.

And another Romain soldier

Sorry but this month a Solder again...
I need a lot of these guys for my diorama,
and I wish I can find more to paint...

If I am right this guy is from the legion of Cleopatra.
But I painted him in the Romain colors
of the solders like in the comic books.
I guess putting him between the real Romains,
he would fit in the scene perfect!

Personal I like these solders a lot
They paint well, and the green and silver do there job.
A finishing touch with white and black line does it.

Looking at the guy unpainted,
I am always glad with the result.

This is also a plastic figure from the bubblegum serie of the 70ths.
Like you find more of them here on my blog...

Hope you like him!

Innkeeper

This month a must have figure...
From Bruegelburg miniatures a 28mm figure

It is a metal figure from a set of 2
the other figure is a waitress

I tried to use colors this guy would wear
some years ago.....

He looks like a nice old innkeeper
thats why I had to buy this guy...

Who wants another beer?

 Cheers!!!

Romain boy

This month again a figure from the 70ths bubble gum series.

I don´t know what figure from the Asterix comic books this is,
but I made him a solder on his day off

It is a simple figure, so easy to paint...

But every time when these figures are painted,
they look so much fun with color!

So again a figure ready for my Asterix project.

Amelia Earhart Christmas version

Today I write this post on X-mas day
to wish all my readers a happy christmas!

And as you can see I painted Amelia Earhart for this occasion.
This is a 28 mm figure from Belt Fed Gaming
Got it on Crisis 2015 from my good friend Peter.
We wanted to do a duel on Bennos figures forum with her!

A metal figure and really fun to paint!
But because it was a december duel I thought to do her different..
No flight jacket brown, but Santa red and white...
The fun part was, Peter had exactly the same idea, hahahaha

Unfortunately I lost the duel even with her glossy scarf
what is in the picture not reflected right..

Hope you like this figure, I sure do!!!

Jean-Baptiste De Coster

This month another figure:
Jean-Baptiste De Coster

As you can see, the special figure of Crisis Antwerp 2015!!!
The exhibition I went to like every year!
Each visitor gets such a great figure.

It is a metal figure, here a picture from the master:

I did some research what colors to use,
but there is not much info
about this man on the internet.

So I took the colors like the cloths they had in those years.
Not very colorful, I know...

Jean Baptist De Coster,  a farmer and innkeeper.
When Napoleon used his inn "La Belle Alliance"
he was forced to be the personal guide of Napoleon.
Afraid of the shots, he was was strapped to a horse.
Some say the French lost because of his bad french.

But after the war, he became a rich man.
As a guide over the battlefield, he ask a lot of money.
In twelve years it was around 300.000 francs!

Romain soldier

For my future diorama I need a whole bunch of Roman soldiers,
I have decided to paint them all a bit different.

As you can see I did on this one the leather parts under his amor,
also with metallic paint, just because it looks nice.

These Romans are so nice to paint, I hope to find more...
(I need more, so if you got one somewhere.....)

And again a monthly post,
let's hope your'e not sick
of all the Asterix figures
from the bubblegum range!
