Genius bottle gold paint

Like a lot of fellow figurepainters I use

Vallejo paint, and I took a closer look at 

The label of this gold paint. 

There was a warning written what caught my attention:

Contains Genie....

So I quickly took the cap off, 

and with a cloth I rubbed the bottle...

A real Genie appeared, what a surprise!

This friendly Genie was so glad to be out of this small bottle.

He was so grateful to me that I could make 3 wishes...

Hahaha, I hope you liked this conversion, now step by step how I made it:

I started my conversion again with this

figure form the 1970s Asterix range.

On my search for Romains, 

I had to buy some extra of these...

So always fun to make a special one out of them!

First step was cutting his arms and legs...

The arms just needed another pose, so I drilled a small hole in them.

Then added a part of a paperclip for a solid construction

Another hole in his body, cut the paperclip to the right size

end bend it for the pose I had in mind...

With PVC glue I filled up the holes, and also added a small ring

on his head, around the hair.

Then added a bigger paparclip and tried to make

the right basic for his Genie rope

With Milliput, covered with paper tissue I made the right shape.

Used some Paper shaper to make the tissue hard.

The form looked perfect when dry, so a gray coat spray before painting.

During the painting, I saw I forgot his beard.

So made one from a clip for a plastic bag, and pvc glue...

I also cleaned an empty Vallejo paint bottle

And put some gold paint inside

On my comupter I designed

a new label for the bottle.

My inspiration whas this drawing,

and I must say it turned out well!

It's Christmas time again..

So I found a perfect lady for this occasion

on the website of Speirra Miniatures 

they sell fantastic 3D printed figures

She was my entry of a duel on Benno's Figures Forum

and for the first time since ages I won, WOW

I gave her a traditional red dress with white details

As you could see on the first picture of this post

I tried to paint reindeer on the mugs

On her back I painted a few extra gold buttons as a detail

I also painted the toenails red, it's Christmas after all 

 

I am very happy with the base, 

with different colors on the stones it shows pretty real

I made the beer head shine with some silver brush

but that's hard to see on the pictures

I hope you liked her, maybe next year another Asterix X-mas figure.

Who's hungry

This month a nice other non-violent figure

who just made some hotdogs...

I found this at the Crisis event in Antwerp Belgium

a few years ago, a nice metal figure

Discworld Miniatures has really cool figures

It was difficult to choose the colors, I wanted to paint him a bit colorful

Since Christmas is already around the door, that may have some influence

With some extra stripes I tried to make his white apron a little less boring

I tried to paint the sandwiches and sausages so tasteful and realistic,

with some lettuce to make it a bit more colorful

In the end I'm happy with the end result, 

so enjoy your meal before everything gets cold hahaha

On my search of non violent figures

I saw this guy, awesome pose..

I found him here at Speira miniatures

This guy is self supporting i guess..

The figure is a resin 3D print in a fantastic detailed result

It was fun painting him, and a fine find.

I am sure I will order more here

That was all for this month, now I have to find another figure

for november, and still try to find and paint my Romains...

But not a Asterix figure this time..

When I saw this figure on the website of Speira Miniatures

it was a must-have immediately, what a fantastic pose.

This figure is printed 3-D in resin, in a great quality.

This guy doesn't look happy, maybe he is still thinking about his last exciting book.

I made his shirt in a striped version, quite a challenge.

I kept the books a bit colorful, I guess these looked a bit more luxurious originally.
