Electrocutix

Let's talk about electricity this month...
I started to strip this electrical wire...

Then this trainee electrician got to work with it

Yes you see correctly,
I drilled some holes and then filled
them thread by thread with some glue

Then it was time for the hairdresser,
so the scissors went in to make the hair a bit more realistic

From a flattened paperclip I made a screwdriver,
the handle from several layers of PVA glue

Then a coat of primer over it

And with some paint it soon became a clumsy electrician, \
with his hair standing straight up....

I am totally happy with how this figure turned out

But the conversion continues, starting with a bouncy ball,
which when you throw it on the ground starts flashing...

Wondering what's inside, this one carefully cut open...

It was a very small mechanism with a red and blue flashing light

Just used the soldering iron to replace the switch mechanism for a wire,
and made a push button on it right away.

In a jar lid I drilled a hole for the push button,
and made a plate out of foam to cover it

Just testing, yes this is going to be totally fun!

From old plastic material I made a switch box

Just priming this one too, and printed out
a picture of a burning switchbox to stick inside

That already looks perfect...

Using filler (from crochet), I made a plume of smoke
that I reinforced with clear varnish.
I also printed out some more signs to stick on the outside.

Then just drawing a tile path in the foam,
and painting it grey, next to it the sand also coloured.

Then glue the two together,
the flashing lights are behind the closed door....

Then going with my grass applicayor for the first time,
it soon turned green...

Be careful, of course,
because we do work under high voltage on this project!

and then this is the final result!

Extra attention to danger of high voltage

To emphasise why his hair stands up hahaha

In this video, you can see how the effect adds some extra in the end!

This was a giant fun conversion project, hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Uberix

This month another conversion to make a special figure out of it..
my friend Hans did sent me this small comic about Obelix starting Uberix

So I choose these two figures for it

From wooden sticks I made a small chair, first I placed them on a piece of adhesive tape so they stayed on the right spot.

Using some woodglue to get all nicely curved parts together

Then it was time to start the conversion, because the Druïde must be sitting..

I cut away his robe and legs, and also his arm

I drilled 2 holes in both sides, and bended some paperclips for the new sitting position,
filded it wit PVA glue, repeat that and using paper napkins to make his robe right again.

In his arm I also drilled a hole, and used another part of the paperclip to bend it into the right position. Some drups of pva gleu on it, and his arm is ready.

Then sprayed the primer on, and the last part was coloring these famous characters...

When the paint job was done, I had just 3 parts who had to be glued together

The Druïde was tired, and sat down

Ahhh that feels good

Obelix couldn't wait and held his hands up..

And so they went away

With Obelix his new company Uberix

A well way of traveling cheap

And it's also good for the environment,
with those polluting ox wagons from that time!

And so Uberix brings us to the end of this blog post

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it

Thank you for visiting,
and next time just take a Uberix to come here again!

another (special) Romain solder

This month one of the regulair painted figures.
For those who know me, this is my real painting fun...

But in this case a little bit different then the others,
cause this guy had a broken arm when I got him.
On the left you see the original, and next to him
on the right you can see that I made his arm,
but in a slight different position

Of course I painted him in the famous colors
as I do with all of these solders

And if you didn't knew, you would not see the difference

And so I reached now the 500+ who had a day out
last weekend at a show in Lingen (Germany)
next goal 600....

I must say they are harder to count now, LOL

But the good news is, I can do something
with the broken solders as well...

That's all folks, thanks for your visit!

Dancing girl

And another figure from Reeper Bones
this month, a dancing girl.

A nice figure it is, and I did try to give her a eastern look.
But the pictures arn't so good to see what I did try

with a gold drybrush I made the dress and shawl
looking a bit more glossy.

As you know I am not a master painter
but hope you still like her!

Dwarf Thief

This month another figure
from the Reaper Bones Dark Heaven range

I always look for a non violent figure,
this one had more guns than I thought.

Just for fun, I've planned to use only the colors
of the Asterix Roman soldiers

Not really a super figure, but another 1 ready this month...

Now back to my Romans

X-mas girl

Like every year in december
this is my december duel entry in X-mas style

And like most of the times I lost
My opponent had painted her as a Bavarian beer lady,
really a great job like she walked out of the Ocktoberfest!

But for me it was another Christmas entry
and also my december post on my blog as well

This figure is from Reaper Miniatures
but I missed some details what could have made her better

She is made from metal, the arm with cup had to be glued
The cup was decorates with a dear (Rudolph)

And I must say some parts where extra fun to paint
but for me it was also hard to do it right

Since X-mas is over, and we are getting into 2023
Let's end with the best wishes!
